If you couldn’t have a place on the four days and three nights Inca trail to Machupicchu then come and register with us to the alternate trail to Machupicchu that goes through the mountain of SALKANTAY, this is a beautiful Inca trail as well that reaches to Machupicchu going over the sacred mountain of SALKANTAY going through a different ecosystems starting  in 3000 meters above sea level reaching to 4500 meters above sea level and going into other microclimates typical from the cloud forest enjoying a very nice small and picturesque communities which population  are coca leaf farmers, avocado farmers and a lot of citrus, this another nice way to enjoy a trek that goes to Machupicchu with less strict perditions.

“Summary”

Remember that we organize this hike only in four days and three nights because we use a different campsite than the travel companies doing the same trek in five days and four nights, we always try to skip crowds and we start earlier than the rest of the travel companies.

“Itinerary”

DAY 01   CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS/ RAYANNIYOQ

We start in Cusco we will pick you up very early in the morning in this case you will be picked up from your hotel at 4:00 AM our tour guide and our staff will put you in our private transport to drive for three hours to the start of the trail in the meantime we will stop at the community of Molle Pata only to buy some walking poles and be able to use toilets then we will continue our bus trip to  Soraypampa where the start of the trail is, at this place you will meet to our wranglers, assistants and  cooks  who’s are going to provide for you a delicious warm breakfast including some sandwiches, you will be able to organize all your staff, you will pack your essentials for the day in your daypack and you will give the rest of your stuff to the wranglers whose are going to put all that on the packing horses, remember that the extra belongings don’t have to exceed the 8 kilos per person, the tour guides will give you all the information about this day and with all these information you will start your hike up to reach the Salkantay pass 4,500 masl. we are going to enjoy this place as we are going to be very close to the sacred mountain, very important in the Andean spiritual tradition this  mountain works with the wild power of humanity our tour guides are spiritually oriented and trained in the Andean spiritual tradition they will be able to explain you about and perform a  little rituals of KINTU or sacred reciprocity with Mother Nature, after a very nice rest you are going to start descending to the campsite which is located in 3,500 meters above sea level in an area named us Rayanniyoq, our tour  guide will organize your lunch in the in between depending how the group goes and at the right time, they will coordinate with our cooks and staff to give you your warm lunch including a delicious warm soup and hot drinks .

DAY 02  RAYANNIYOQ – CHAULLAY- LUCMABAMBA

At this day as is usual we are going to wake up quite early to keep descending the trail down to the community of CHAULLAY, at this place we will enjoy and interact with the community also we will have our warm lunch then we are going to take our private transport. Which is going to take us through the valley down until we arrive to the LUCMABAMBA campsite. After we organize all our tents in our campsite, our hosts at the farm and campsite will take us in a very nice and interesting Tour of the coffee Where we will be taught by the farmers how they farm the most delicious coffee in the region, there will be chance to go for a fresh bath at the Sirkay river and enjoy some beers.

DAY 03  LUCMABAMBA – LLAQTAPATA – HIDROELECTRICA – MACHUPICCHU TOWN

At  this day and after a Delicious warm breakfast we will continue our  hike up on the original Inca trail to reach the archaeological site of PATALLAQTA  this work will take us about two hours to reach there where our tour guides will explain all history about this place also the view to the Machupicchu mountain and citadel will be imponent, we will keep descending to the Aobamba river for one hour more where we will find the check point of the Ministry of Environment where we will register and continue to the train station of the same name where we will have our lunch, after a nice rest we will continue our hike on the path going at the side of the railway track and the side of the Urubamba river, nice to encounter  a lot of birds until we arrive to the Machupicchu town where we will sleep and get our dinner in a restaurant , time where our tour guides will brief you all about the tour at Machupicchu on the following day.

TOUR TO MACHUPICCHU – TRAIN BACK TO CUSCO

At  this day we will wake up very early and we will receive our box breakfast from the hotel and go together with our tour guide to the bus station to take the train up to Machu Picchu, our travel company always organizes the first entrances to Machupicchu so we can have our tour before the crowd arrives from cusco with the trains, our tour will last about three hours together with our tour guides who’s are going to explain you all about the citadel of Machupicchu, then we will take the bus  back to the Machu Picchu Pueblo where we are going to enjoy our nice lunch and we will wait for our train back to Cusco, we will arrive too Cusco around 7 pm on the 4th day .
