DAY 01 CUSCO – OCONGATE – UPIS
After an empowering breakfast our professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in our private transport to drive you to the start of the trail which will take us 3 hours, this drive we will do with several stops at the indifferent native communities full of traditions and picturesque communities so as OCONGATE, this place will show you how the time has stop there because all their social, political and religious organization is still what they inherited from their ancestors, we will continue to the AUSANGATE plateau where we will have the encounter with groups of llamas and alpacas having an Andean taste to our trip, at the end we will arrive to UPIS our camp site where we will meet to our horsemen and wranglers, cooks and staff, at this place we will enjoy from a very nice hot springs and a delicious hot dinner.
DAY 02 UPIS – PUKAQOCHA – AUSANGATE QOCHA
At this day and after a delicious breakfast we will star our walk towards to the first pass which is in 3900 m.a.s.l the Arapa pass, this will be a gradual ascend and challenging at the same time with the altitude issue but we don have to worry because our professional tour guides will always be provided with a tank of oxygen if we need it, we will continue in an undulating trail with a stunning view and very close to the Sacred Apu (Sacred Mountain), the wild life will be present with the group of Vicuñas in the area which is common to see also a lot of birds, around noon we will arrive to the PUKA QOCHA (Red Lagoon) where we will have lunch, by the afternoon we will continue our walk for 3 hours to arrive to AUSANGATE QOCHA our camp site in 4000 m.a.s.l where we can enjoy the lagoon of the same name
DAY 03 AUSANGATE QOCHA – PALOMANI PASS – QAMPA COMUNITY
We will always wake up early and have breakfast around 7 am then start walking up to the highest pass on our trip the PALOMANI pass at 5200 m.a.s.l , this ascend will take us about 3 hours in a very slow pace always being assisted by our professional tour guides always walking in the side of the sacred mountain and enjoying from its energy and beauty, we will meet to a lot of alpaca farmers and thousands of alpacas and llamas, the altitude we arrive to will make us feel like being at the moon, it is amazing, will take 2 hours to descend and at the bottom we will have our lunch and 3 hours later we will arrive to our camp site at the community of Qampa 4100m.a.s.l
DAY 04 QAMPA COMMUNITY – PUKAPUNTA PASS – PAQCHANTA COMMUNITY
After a very nice breakfast we will start the ascend to the third pass called The PUKA PUNTA pass it will be a gradual ascend with stunning views to the AUSANGATE mountain and the PUKA PUNTA mountain the local traditions explains that they both are couple mountains as masculine and feminine so at the pass there are a lot of evidences of ancient rituals done at least 200 years ago so as few years ago, there are a lot of the APACHETAS or piled stones where the local people leaves offerings to the sacred mountains and Pachamama (Mother Earth), descending the pass in 2 hours later we will arrive to the NINAPARAYOQ (Rain of Fire) area where we will have lunch, and enjoy of the 7 lagoons area, enjoy the green lagoon the gray lagoon and the blue lagoon highly visited by the Andean shaman for their initiation and healing arts, after lunch we will walk for 2 more hours to arrive to the community of PACCHANTA where we will enjoy of dinner and the very hot springs
DAY 05 PACCHANTA COMMUNITY – TINKE – CUSCO
Before or after breakfast we will enjoy the hot springs once again then we will be ready for another 3 hours walk to the other community of TINKE where our transport will be waiting for us to transport us to Cusco, at this place we will say good by to all people whose worked for us, the local horsemen and wranglers then we will drive back to Cusco.
